Mixed media. Resin, pigment, archival ink. 55 cm diameter.
Layers of resin poured in sequence over text fragments. The text in here is from Mary Oliver's poem Wild Geese.
The words are sealed beneath the surface...present, legible on close inspection, but requiring the right angle and the right light. The colour moves from deep blue to transparent towards the surface, giving the piece the quality of water seen from above.
The circular format invites rotation: a turn reveals a different perspective, a different depth, a different way in. This work is about what is carried underneath and that there are paths where they don't seem to exist at first.
The series "NEXUS OF THOUGHTS" combines different inspirational thoughts into a series of 7 images. THIS PIECE IS SOLD IN PRIVATE COLLECTION.
